General Conditions

1 PREVIOUS CONSIDERATIONS

The V Certamen Internacional de Dansa Ciutat de Barcelona will take place in Barcelona from the next Apr. 9 until Apr. 12, 2015.

Dance students from all around the world will participate in this Certamen. This dancers are 12 to 22 years old, realized during the the year of the competition, from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2015. In conclusion, all those dancers are born between 1993 and 2003 inclusive.

CATEGORIES

The participants will be segmented by specialty and categories. The specialties and conditions to participate are:

CLASSIC DANCE

Categories:

  • Classic A. Born between 2001 and 2003 inclusive.
  • Classic B. Born between 1997 and 2000 inclusive.
  • Classic C. Born between 1993 and 1996 inclusive.

Conditions

The participants should dance two variations.

  • Obligatory variation, chosen from the published list.
  • Free variation with pointe shoes. The duration of this piece will be 2 minutes.

For each peace, it should be specified: the ballet, the variation, the choreographer and the compositor.

CONTEMPORANY DANCE

Categories

  • Contemporary B. Born between 1997 and 2000 inclusive.
  • Contemporary C. Born between 1993 and 1996 inclusive.

Conditions

The participants should dance two variations.

  • Obligatory variation, chosen from the published list.
  • Free variation. The duration of this piece will be 2 minutes.

For each peace, it should be specified: the ballet, the variation, the choreographer and the compositor.

 

SPANISH DANCE

Categories:

  • Español B. Born between 1997 and 2000 inclusive.
  • Español C. Born between 1993 and 1996 inclusive.

Conditions

The participants should dance 2 variations.

  • Free variation of escuela bolera with zapatillas and castanets. The duration of this piece will be 3 minutes.
  • Free variation with zapatillas. The duration of this piece will be two minutes.

For each peace, it should be specified: the name of the variation, the choreographer and the compositor.

PAS DE DEUX .

Categories:

The two dancers should be born between 1993 and 2000, inclusive.

  • Pas de deux B. The two dancers have to be born between 1997 and 2000 inclusive.
  • Pas de deux C. One of the two dancers have to be born between 1993 and 1996, inclusive.

Conditions

The participants should dance one piece from the suggested repertoire. The dancers should dance pas de deux, the girl variation, the boy variation and the final coda.

GROUPS

Categories:

  • Groups (unique category). All the dancers should be born between 1993 and 2000, inclusive.

Conditions

The duration of the choreography shouldn’t be longer than three minutes. It is obligatory to specify the name of the variation, the choreographer and the compositor.

DANCER

Dancers working in professional companies won’t be able to compete in any category. If you are a professional dancer and work for any professional company, you won’t be able to participate in the Certamen Internacional de Dansa Ciutat de Barcelona.

MINORS

The participants which are not 18 years old, the next Nov. 9 will have to complete the inscription with the legal guardian signature.

You can find the permission form in the inscriptions section, and it has to be sent correctly.

The organization has the power to exclude the participants who don’t deliver the permission form in the correct date.

IMAGE RIGHTS

The organization will have to take photographs and videos during the competition and the other activities celebrated during the Certamen. These photographs and videos could be used to do commercial and promotional activities. The participants should know that some of their photographs can be used permanently, without limit of time and place.

2 INSCRIPTIONS AND DATES

If you can do the inscription, you need to follow the next steps:

  • Download the Inscription Formulary from the Certamen webpage and complete this form correctly.
  • Attach the necessary documentation.
    • ID copy or Passport copy
    • ID card-size photo..
    • Photo in dancing movement.
    • Short CV.
    • Image rights document,.
  • Send the Inscription form, with the necessary attached documents to this e-mail address: inscripcions@certamenciutatdebarcelona.com.
  • You can make the inscription payment in two different ways.

The necessary documentation and the inscription payment must be sent before the next February 20th 2015.

 

 

  • Sending the recorded music in high quality
  • Sending one video from one coreography or variation, which will be danced in the Certamen.

The music and videos will be sent correctly, before the next January 31th 2015.

PAYMENT

INSCRIPTION COST

The inscription cost for all the categories, except groups, is 110€ for participant.

Fort the Pas de deux cathegory the payment must be paid separately. Each one will pay his part.

For the groups cathegory the inscription cost is 60€ for each one the participants.

When you will have paid the inscription, this money would not return.

PAYMENT METHODS

The payment must be realized in the seven following the sending of the registration form, always before February 20th.

The Inscription payment should be done across two different methods.

Important

  • In the two modes of payment. You can indicate the name of the subject, the participant name and the category about the payment.
  • If you can realize a payment for Groups or Pas de deux, you must pay only one payment for all the members. You must indicate one name of the group and the category.

 

 

 

MUSICS

The participants must sent to Organization the music of the choreographies will be danced (free or compulsory).

Each song must be send in one independent archive whose name must show contestant’s name, song title and variation type (compulsory or free / bolera or shoes for Spanish).

The music will be sent to inscripcions@certamenciutatdebarcelona.com

The music will be sent by electronic mail or wetransfer.com. Anyway, in the message should be noted the name and category of the participant.

If the duration of music is too large, the music will be sent to the required time.

In case this is necessary, the participant would be the responsible to pay the Copyright of the selected music.

VIDEO

The participants must send to the organization one video about the participant/participants where we can observe one choreography or variation will represent in the competition.

The video will be useful to choose the selected dancers to the semifinal.

The videos must be sent satisfactorily, so we can appreciate the quality of the participants.

You can send the video through:

  • Sending the video through wetransfer.com, indicating the name and the category of participant.
  • Sending email to inscripcions@certamenciutatdebarcelona.com. In this email must have one link redirected to Youtube. In this email will be indicated the name and category of participant.

The choreographies will be presented in the Certamen should be the same as those sent before. If the choreographies aren’t the same, the dancers will be punished with a disqualification.

3 PARTICIPATION

ACCES TO THE SEMIFINALS

Semifinalists will be chosen to participate in the Semifinals, which will be held the next April 2015 in Barcelona.

Since February 15th we will inform the registered contestants about their access or not to the semifinals.

The participants not qualified for the semifinal will be invited as spectators for all the competition. Tickets for all sessions will be granted to them once they confirm their assistance. We will inform them how get the tickets.

ACCREDITATIONS

Semifinal contestants must show up in the indicated place and hour.

The participants must wear their accreditations all the time previous getting to the stage.

The companion teachers must register (free of charge) and will have access to the auditorium the day of the rehearsal day.

MASTER CLASSES

Participants will be informed about Master classes schedule that will be held for each category.

The assistance to the class is mandatory. Those participants not attending the classes are subject to dismiss if the organization considers so.

The participant must show up in the class properly dressed. The girls wearing maillot and mesh pants . The boys must wear sport shirt and mesh pants

REHEARSAL

Assistance to the rehearsal is mandatory.

The correct day and hour , will be communicated over the competition. In this assay, the participant will choose which of the two variations, wants represent in the Assay.

PARTICIPATION ORDER

The participation and distribution order, about the different groups during the competition, will be determined and ordered during the competition days by technical direction.

The order actuation will be realized by alphabetic order, in each variant.

PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION

Contestants must show up in the contest venue the day and time shown in the contest Schedule according to its category.

The teachers and companions won’t be allowed to enter the backstage or dressing rooms. This area is forbidden, except for the dancers.

The jury will be the responsible to decide who are the selected dancers who will pass to the final. This decision will be taken after the each morning and afternoon sessions.

FINAL ACCESS

The selected dancers to compete in the final of each category will dance only one choreography presented to the contest (dancers will choose the choreography).

When the finalist dancers list will be showed, these dancers must communicate to the organization what variation will be performed in the final.

PUNTUATION

The final punctuation will be the result of the individual evaluation of each jury:

  • The physical form
  • Musicality
  • Technical, control and coordination

The awards will be given in the Saló de Cent de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona.

The winners will be given different scholarship in dance schools around the world. If the dancer rejects the scholarship, the jury would give this to other dancer.

4 photographies and films

Photographs and videos recorded during the contest can only be made by the organizers and will become their exclusive property for any future reproduction and distribution. These recordings may be used for commercial or promotional aims, including publicity to the benefit of third persons, irrespective of the products and or services being promoted and the participants assign those rights to the organizers permanently and irrevocably, without limit in time or place.

People who are not part of the organization, are not allowed to film or take pictures during the performances.

5 TRAVEL EXPENSES AND MANUTIATION

The trip to the Barcelona and the travel expenses there, will be dancers concern. However organization will inform about different hotels with special price, for the contestants and their companions.

6 DISCLAIMER

Organization is not responsible for any injury that may occur during the competition. The participants must be insured for the competition.

Contestant will be responsible of their personal belongings. The organization will not be responsible for any stolen or lost objects.
